Grosse Pomme.

New York reste toujours une ville impressionante, voir même épeurante.

Ah New York.

Hearing an american accent announcing the boarding of flight 715 to Washington D.C., it's not that pleasant.
Returning to America after more than six months of absence, it feels a bit weird.
Reuniting with your family and friends after more than six months, it makes me happy.

It's at the Strand Hotel at 33 West 37th Street, New York City, that I met them again. The Leonard Lamer family accompanied of the Forcier Poirier family louse in one of the world's most important megapolis.
Imagine the scene. Ouff.

First of all, going from a small country town like Benalla to a megapolis like New York is a bit of a shock: tourists by millions, long streets delimited by humongous buildings, high end restaurants and boutiques at each corner... It's a big change in comparison to the main street, the bakery and life between the cows and the sheep.

New York always stays an impressive city, almost scary.

The ascension of the Empire State building, the visit to Ground Zero and Occupied New York, the bicycle tour through Central Park, the visit of the MoMa (or let's say more of a lunch on the MoMa's terrace...), two level red tourist bus' tours, excellent meals in beautiful restaurants, drinks at the hotel's terrace with view on the Empire State building... New York was an amazing birthday present.

1 .  If I tell you: a visit in Time Square and meeting by chance an old friend from CÉGEP? Crazy, no? Yep, we ran into Camille Proulx-Tremblay. Whoa.

2 .  If I tell you:  two young twenty year-olds running full speed from 57th Street to 33rd Street while screaming "LEFT, LEEFFTT!" to other pedestrians, to realize that their hotel is not on 33rd but on 37th Street in the opposite direction of where they are, to arrive an hour and a half late to their rendez-vous?

3 .  If I tell you: you check your facebook et votre ami vous envoie un lien à un blog s'appelant "Hottest Chicks of Wall Street" et qu'une photo prise à votre insu dans le milieu d'une foule dans New York apparait en gros sur votre écran?

Ah New York.
